Mixing is the art of making everything work together
A mix is not simply about volume balancing.
It is the process of organizing sound in space, controlling dynamics, shaping tone, and creating emotional clarity between all elements of a track.
A good mix allows every sound to have its place while maintaining movement, impact, and cohesion.
The objective is not perfection — it is translation, intention, and musicality.

Mixing Philosophy
A mix should sound balanced across a wide range of playback systems, not only in the studio.
Spatial organization is essential in electronic music to create movement and immersion.
Preserving movement and contrast is often more important than maximizing loudness.
Every sound should support the emotional direction of the track.
Common Mixing Issues
Overlapping bass frequencies can reduce clarity and impact. Improper density compared to other songs making the song feel weak, imprecise or out of place.
Excessive brightness can lead to listener fatigue and imbalance.
Static mixes often benefit from automation and dynamic contrast.
Improper stereo placement can weaken clarity and mono compatibility. Some sound don’t hold their place, feel blurry or imprecise.
How to send and prepare your project
Preparing Your Session
It is easier for me if you can send me the stems of your projects. This is the best way to proceed.
- Export the stems with the effects.
- No normalizing. No dithering.
- Export WAV or AIFF files; 24b 44khz preferably.
- No grouping unless it’s sound layering.
- Start all stems at bar 1
- Remove master bus limiting
- Label files clearly with what is the sound about.
- Include BPM and sample rate
Sending Your Files
Sessions can be sent using Dropbox, WeTransfer, or Google Drive.
Please include:
- Artist name
- Track title
- BPM
- Reference tracks
- Notes about artistic direction
- Any concerns about the mix

MY APPROACH
A Collaborative Mixing Process
Mixing is not about imposing a signature sound onto your music.
The process begins by understanding the intention behind the track and identifying what deserves attention, space, and emphasis.
Through careful listening, balance adjustments, spatial processing, and dynamic control, the objective is to help the music feel coherent and emotionally engaging while remaining true to its original direction.
Why Working with Me For Your Mixing?
Many producers only realize they need mixing when a track feels done but still sounds off. What sounded powerful during production can suddenly feel flat, muddy, harsh, or unclear on other systems.
As a mastering engineer but also as an artist, I’m very in tune of what a song needs to shine. I also quickly understand what someone’s vision is.
Mixing helps transform a collection of sounds into a coherent musical experience.
In many cases, it is what defines a song as a finished project.
Common Signs a Track Needs Mixing
- The low-end feels muddy or inconsistent
- The kick and bass fight each other
- Some sounds disappear on small speakers
- The mix feels harsh or fatiguing
- The track lacks depth or movement
- Everything feels loud but nothing stands out
- The balance changes dramatically between systems
- You are stuck endlessly tweaking details
Sometimes the issue is not the sounds themselves, but how they interact together.
Mixing creates separation, focus, depth, and emotional clarity between elements.
WHAT MIXING SOLVES
- Better clarity and separation
- Stronger low-end translation
- Improved stereo image and depth
- More emotional impact
- Better playback across systems
- Controlled dynamics and energy
- More coherent arrangement perception
- Release-ready sound
A good mix allows the listener to connect with the intention of the music without technical distractions pulling attention away from the experience.
Digital Mixing Setup
For digital mixing, I use one of these DAW:
- Ableton Live
- Reaper
- Studio One
My main plugins are:
- Fabfilter suite
- Plugin Alliance full bundle
- Melda Production
- Many analog emulation plugins such as Analog Obsession.
- And many more.
Analog Mixing Setup
- Main DAW I use is Reaper.
- Audio interface and converters: Apogee Symphony
- Zaehl AM1 Custom-made 12 channels.
- Bettermaker Mastering compressor for tape emulation.
Digital mixdown is designed for producers of all levels. The goal is to bring cohesion to your track while shaping the mix toward the tone and feel of the reference songs you love.
Analog mixing is ideal for music that needs an additional layer of warmth, depth, and character to move away from a purely digital sound.
